I am always working on the habitat but I hope you enjoy some of the things from my kitchen while I am under construction. Is there an exhibit you would like to see here? Drop me a line and let me know.

~HELEN'S KITCHEN RULES~

Just to be clear, right off the bat, none of these rules apply to Josh Holloway, he can do whatever he wants when he's in the kitchen here.

If it's dirty, wash it.

If it's a mess, tidy it.

If you're using the last of something or it's almost gone, put it on the list.

If you spill it, wipe it up.

Friday is TAKE OUT day!

THE SAUCE IS THE BOSS.

If it burns you once...hmmmm how do I say this nicely...well there's magazines in the bathroom.

Expiration dates do mean something and we do not store open cans of mushrooms underneath a kitchen cabinet on the floor.

Do not cook on the stove top unless you are wearing protective clothing.

Keep the ham slot full.

The Prince of Summer shall from time to time disregard his royal obligations and perform duties for the commoners such as recycling, garbage and occasional dish doing.

Ok a couple of these really only apply to my house. Or Moc and Doc's house.

Welcome to my online Kitschen. I actually keep my collection of coffee related things in the kitchen in my RL home. So, here you can see pictures of those things and read about what's happening there. It's not easy to be frugal and still eat tasty, nutritious food but I'm really trying. Bon Appetit!

What is kitsch? Click here to get the dictionary.com definition. You know what else is fun? Turn your volume up and press that button that looks just like your volume control icon. Press it again and again. 30 Helen's agree. Making a mix of the word kitsch is good fun.

Also fun when you're in the kitchen is making the snoring sheep and cow keychain go all at the same time. I don't know how to really capture the amazingness of how cool it is to do this. I'll make an attempt with a sound recording - I apologize but at this time there are no creatures living in the habitat here that are multimedia wizards.

My coffee kitchen magnets. I don't know if anybody remembers Milk and Cheese or Too Much Coffee Man but those were comic books I used to have. They are completely for 25yrs+ though just to warn you and sometimes not appropriate for any age, really. At any rate, I still keep the autographed coffee bag because I'm a nerd. If you weren't already quite sure about that I can further prove it to you with my Star Trek Voyager coffee collection. Yes, there's more than just what's on the fridge. Lovely gifts from the Bribrarian. Thanks Brian!

Other coffee gifts - a safety cone from Pete and a coffee promise from Mika.

The coffee candle topper from Yankee Candle. I bought it many years ago so I doubt they still have this style, but I know they still sell toppers. In the kitchen I also really like to use a tart warmer and I buy a different one according to holiday or season.

My own version of a coffee sleeve I made for Mika. It's pictured here on top of a box I bought from Hallmark, also many years ago. I don't usually have much use for it except for holding matches. You can buy much better coffee sleeves through Etsy made by real crafters. My user id on Etsy is "nailblenda" if you want to see some of my favorites.

And luckily I have a small collection of etiquette books in case I need some refresher on how to actually set a table or fold a napkin. Check out that heart/rainbow sticker! Remember those? I've had that book since I apparently "hearted" snoopy --- see pic below.

For the love of snoopy? I don't recall ever actually "hearting" snoopy I think I was just bored and tried to draw it.

Misc Kitch Kitsch. God bless Gooseberry Patch.

An old gift from Becky - hilarious!
